The Department of History of Art and Architecture at UC Santa Barbara would like to announce a one-day graduate student symposium titled "Visualizing Place and Space" on Friday, April 26, 2019. Our presenters, including keynote speaker Edward S. Casey and panelists, will engage critically in analyses of space and place as they are expressed in art, architecture, design and craft. We seek proposals for papers of no more than 20 minutes in length from a variety of disciplines including, but not limited to, art and architecural history, geography, sociology, anthropoloigy, film and media studies, and philosophy.
