Tenure Track Assistant Professor, Modern European History

The University of Southern Mississippi School of Humanities invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in modern European history, excluding Britain and Russia. The search is open as to sub-specialty, but scholars with expertise in the history of sexuality, or Europe and the World, and interests in online pedagogy are especially encouraged to apply. The appointment, located at Southern Miss’s Hattiesburg campus, will begin in August 2019. Responsibilities will include a 3/3 load teaching surveys on world and European history (particularly Nineteenth-Century Europe), as well as upper-level and graduate courses in field of specialization, and directing theses and dissertations in a doctorate-granting department. Faculty are also expected to maintain an active research agenda. Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in history by time of appointment and promise of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
