We seek new team members passionate about developing the potential of young historians across Texas. The OnRamps History Assessment Team provides valuable feedback and scoring for two semester-long courses in American history: HIS315K and HIS315L. Increase the number and diversity of high school students exposed to college history standards – and get paid for it!
Responsibilities:
OnRamps History Assessment Team affiliates grade a two-semester series of college assignments for one or more sections of approximately 30 high school students enrolled in our dual enrollment program. Assignments include two timelines, two midterms, and two final exams throughout the academic year. We deliver timely and thoughtful feedback and scoring using Canvas Speedgrader. Software, rubrics, and scoring calibration are provided by UT Austin trainers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in any field plus 18 hours of graduate coursework in U.S. history, or a closely-related field, at an accredited institution; or,
- Bachelor’s degree in any field plus 9 hours of graduate coursework in U.S. history, or a closely-related field, at an accredited institution in addition to being currently enrolled in a history graduate program, or graduate program in a closely related field.
- Access to a personal computer with high speed Internet access.
- Background check required of successful candidates.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience of American history at the college level is highly desirable.
Benefits:
- 2018-2019 stipends start at $1075/year (30 students per section; approximately 34 hours per semester) for those who fulfill their full year commitment.
