Finalities
In the last years, we witnessed at an international level the instrumental use of religious symbologies and beliefs as instruments to legitimise political programmes with sometimes extremely varied finalities. At the same time, we could observe the growth of a long spiral of violence characterised by actions that, even though they can be attributed to religious fanatism, present themselves also as an integral part of a clear project of re-organisation of the existing State and social order. In this context, in many so-called Western countries, especially in Europe, traditional socio-cultural and religious characterisation is undergoing fast changes, due also to the migratory dynamics, thus conditioning the agenda of political debate.
The Winter Schools aims to provide the notions and heuristic instruments necessary in order to orient oneself in the situation here described, outline the types of documents available to the scholar who wants to investigate these phenomena and the method to analyse them. It also aims to clarify the characteristics and the methodologies of field research, of interviews, and of any relationship with the primary actors of these phenomena.
Addressees
The Winter School is primarily aimed at senior students in humanities, graduate and phd students in the same diciplines, and secondary school teachers. It is also open to those who possess the basic knowledge necessary to frequent the course, even if they don't fall into the categories listed above.
