Consider attending the Canadian Business History Association’s 2018 Annual Conference in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on the timely topic ‘Trade-Offs: The History of Canada-U.S. Trade Negotiations’.  The conference, being held November 7th-8th at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto,  will bring together academics, politicians and business practitioners to study and analyze the history of Canada’s efforts in negotiating past trade agreements, and assess the results of its current negotiations, with the United States.  This critical assessment will be the basis of a series of broad guidelines for future trade negotiation efforts.  Keynote speakers include The Honourable Jean Charest (former Premier of the province of Quebec), Martha Hall Findlay (President, Canada West Foundation), and Craig Alexander (Chief Economist, Deloitte).  This conference will be archived on the CBHA/ACHA YouTube channel.  A book of the proceedings of the conference will be published and widely available in January 2019.  You can see the complete agenda and register for the conference at
