We invite scholars, dancers, performing artists, choreographers, performance-based activists, critics, writers, and arts administrators and organizers to join us for a three-day conference centered on theories and practices of dance.

The Asia Pacific Dance Festival conference is held in conjunction with one of the premiere dance festivals in the region with a focus on Asia and the Pacific. APDF showcases the quality of dance, dancers, and choreographers throughout this part of the world with classes, performances, workshops, outreach and ceremonial activities.

The Festival conference seeks to provide opportunities for students, faculty, independent scholars and individuals involved in dance in diverse ways to share traditional and practice-based research and dance concerns with an international audience. We invite proposals for papers, panels, movement workshops and the performances of short dance pieces and must address our theme, Ho‘ala— to waken.
