Young Scholars Visiting Scheme

Preamble

The Chinese University of Hong Kong – Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation Asia-Pacific Centre for Chinese Studies (CCK - APC) Young Scholars Visiting Scheme mainly supports visits to The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) by young scholars on research in Chinese studies. They are expected to spend one term (*with a minimum duration of three months) in residence at CUHK to actively participate in academic activities related to Chinese studies and interact with CUHK scholars and students.

Eligibility Criteria

Ph.D. graduates from a recognized academic institution who currently have a full-time position with less than ten years of work experience after graduation will be eligible for this scheme.

Application Procedure

Interested parties should apply with a detailed curriculum vitae, a two-page research proposal, two recommendation letters and a list of his/her publications; applicant should also indicate his/her preferred period of tenure in the application. Airfare to and from home institution (economy class), on-campus accommodation, a shared office-space and a sum of HK$20,000 of subsistence allowance will be supported. Two visiting scholars will be supported each year. Submissions for the academic years 2018-19 and 2019-20 are accepted all year round until the quota is filled. The next review will be in November 2018; applications received by 29 October, 2018, will be considered at this review. Announcement of Result

Selection results will be announced as soon as they are available. Unfilled quota will be open for application again and may be brought forward to the following year for the application.

Completion Report

The visiting scholar will provide a three-page written report within two months of completion, listing the activities participated during his/her visit.
