We would like to invite all medievalists to a one-day conference at the University of Leicester on 23 November 2018, dealing with the theme of Troublesome Elements. We will be joined by fifteen medievalists from five countries to examine the role of earth, wind, fire and water in medieval culture, and the problems and solutions that surrounded them, both as natural forces and as conceptual devices. Our keynote speaker will be Dr Hetta Howes of UCL, and it should be a rich and rewarding day. A full programme of speakers and further information can be found at our registration site: https://shop.le.ac.uk/product-catalogue/events-at-leicester/medieval-research-centre/troublesome-elements. Information on reaching Leicester and the University can be found here: https://www.le.ac.uk/maps/.
If you have any queries, please contact the organisers Ben Parsons (bp62@le.ac.uk) or Richard Jones (rlcj1@le.ac.uk).
