Starting in April 2019, the a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School for the Humanities Cologne, the Graduate School of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Cologne, will award

 

10 doctoral fellowships in the a.r.t.e.s. EUmanities programme

 

and

 

9 doctoral scholarships

 

over a period of three years.

 

The a.r.t.e.s. Graduate School – successful in the German Universities Excellence Initiative – provides a valuable opportunity to pursue a doctorate through a structured doctoral model of intensive supervision and interdisciplinary research. Seeking to bridge the disciplinary divide between the humanities and the natural sciences, a.r.t.e.s. focuses on the complex intersections between language, history, culture, mediality, anthropology, and ethics.
