Abstracts of papers, individual proposals, and/or panel proposals dealing with any topics at the intersections of rhetoric, composition and American or popular culture are welcome for the 2019 PCA/ACA National Conference. The PCA/ACA is highly regarded in academe with well over 5,000 academic oral presentations given internationally, two top-tier journals (The Journal of American Culture and Journal of Popular Culture), and over 3,000 members. This year’s conference should be exciting with papers on an enormous array of subjects.

Proposals can only be submitted after July 1, 2018 at http://conference.pcaaca.org

Submissions must include

  • your proposal’s title
  • an abstract of no more than 250 words
  • a short 50-word bio

Please review your name, affiliation, title and abstract for spelling and grammar.

If you wish to propose a panel with multiple papers, each presenter must submit an individual paper to the online system, noting within the abstract that it is part of a panel, and listing the names of all co-panelists. Then the organizer should email jburg@svc.edu stating that you intend to present together.

If you wish to propose a roundtable, screening, or other presentation, email jburg@svc.edu directly before submitting to the database.

All presenters must be members of the PCA/ACA and must register for the conference.
