Call for Papers
Left History is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal, published bi-annually out of York University. We feature articles and reviews from both established and early-career scholars.
In our twenty-fifth year of publication, Left History continues to invite original submissions on a wide range of topics. Issues of Left History regularly include articles from a variety of academic disciplines, political perspectives, and theoretical approaches, on topics including race, politics, gender, sexuality, culture, the state, labour, the environment, human rights, theory, and method. An online archive of past issues can be found at https://lh.journals.yorku.ca/index.php/lh/issue/archive.
Article length should range between 6,000–10,000 words (not including notes), or around 20–35 double-spaced pages. Please contact the editors if you would like to submit a longer piece. Follow the general guidelines set out by the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th ed., and for more specific style instructions visit our website at https://lefthistory.ca/. Please submit an electronic version of your manuscript as a Word .docx file, and include a brief abstract, not exceeding 250 words.
We ask that authors do not simultaneously submit their articles to more than one journal. Please ensure that copyright laws are followed when including images.
To send complete submissions or to enquire about the journal, please write to email@example.com. We are happy to answer any questions.
