INTERNATIONAL TURKISH FOLK CULTURE CONGRESS APPLICATONS ARE IN PROGRESS
Applications for 9th International Turkish Folk Culture Congress, organized by Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Research and Training, which will be held in Ordu in November 20-24, 2017, are in progress.
The first congress was held in 1975 and it has been scheduled to be held every 5 years since 1981. The last (8th) one of the congresses was held in İzmir in 2011.
Those who are willing to participate in the Congress should apply at http://aregem.kultur.gov.tr website with their 500-word summaries in Turkish or in English. Deadline for applications is September 7, 2017.
Papers will be presented in the 9th International Turkish Folk Culture Congress under these sessions:
- General Topics
- Turkish Folk Literature
- Music, Dance, and Entertainment
- Traditions, Customs, and Beliefs
- Tangible Culture Assets (Traditional Cuisine and Traditional Handicraft etc.)
- Safeguarding the Intangible Cultural Heritage
The Congress, one of the most important works which is conducted by the Ministry on the purpose of researching, compilation, archiving, and evaluating Turkish Folk Cultural Assets through various scientific activities, will provide opportunity to discuss the current issues and data of researches on Turkish Folk Culture, altogether.
