The International Museum of the Horse (IMH) at the Kentucky Horse Park will host a free teacher day October 7 to allow teachers to experience what the museum and the park have to offer school groups.

The park and the museum offer field trips throughout the year for students that connect to both Kentucky standards and teachers' class curricula. Students can visit the museum, the Kids Barn, the Hall of Champions, the Big Barn and the Breeds Barn, with picnic-style lunches.

Expanding last year's scholarship fund, the Kentucky Horse Park Field Trip Fund offers free admission for all Kentucky public schools (students, teachers, and some chaperones) for trips taken fromSeptember 1 though October 31 and March 31 through May 31. A bus fund is also available to offset transportation costs.

During the teacher day, teachers will meet the IMH education coordinator and will have the rest of the day to enjoy the park's daily shows, the IMH and the American Saddlebred Museum.
