The International Institute for Jewish Genealogy (IIJG) will present a panel at the 17th World Congress of Jewish Studies, on August 6, 2017, at 11.30 am (Rabin Building, Rm. 2001), entitled “Jewish Genealogy: From Individuals to Progressively Larger Groups”.
The Chairperson will be Dr. Michael Silber (HU) and the panellists will be:
1) Dr. Neville Joseph Lamdan (HU & Israel National Library) - “Jewish Genealogy: From Individuals to Progressively Larger Groups: Theoretical Questions”.
2) Dr. Judith Kalik (HU) - At the Sectoral Level: “Village Jews in the 19th Century Minsk Gubernya”.
3) Prof. Kenneth Collins (Glasgow U & HU) - At the National level: “Two hundred years of Scottish Jewry – Genealogical and Demographic Survey”.
4) Prof. Avi Gross (Beer Sheba U & Netanya Academic College) - “At the Diaspora Level: Conversos/ New Christians Lineages, 15th -18th centuries”.
