The Disapora Studies Graduate Workshop at the University of Edinburgh invites proposals for papers for the next academic session 2017-2018.

This series of workshops provides an excellent opportunity for doctoral students and ECRs to meet and discuss their work in an informal setting.  In the past we have tended to focus on the Scottish Diaspora but equally we welcome papers on any diapora related topic.

The workshops are held fortnightly in the School of History, Classics and Archaeology at the William Robertson Wing of the Old Medical School, Teviot Place at the University of Edinburgh. They generally take place on alternate Tuesday lunchtimes at 1 pm, and last approximately one hour.  Five seminars are scheduled for the first semester (October to December 2017) and four for the second semester (January to April 2018).  They generally comprise a thirty minute presentation, followed by a question and answer sesssion. In 2017/2018, the series will begin on Tuesday 3 October.

If you would like to speak at the Disapora Studies Graduate Workshop please contact Alastair Learmont with details of your proposal - comprising an abstract of no more than 200 words and a brief C.V. - no later than Monday 14 August 2017.

The Graduate Workshop is affiliated to the Scottish Centre for Diaspora Studies:  www.ed.ac.uk/history-classics-archaeology/diaspora-studies .  For more information about the Diaspora Studies Graduate Workshop please visit https://edinburghscottishdiaspora.wordpress.com
