Call for papers “History of Corporate Finance”: Workshop and special issue of Journal of Risk and Financial Management
Twenty years ago, the book A History of Corporate Finance by Paul Miranti and the late Jonathan Baskin was published. This book aims to create a synthesis between modern finance theory and historical investigations of corporate finance decisions. In the past two decades, several studies have been published about the history of financial markets, as well as about accounting and banking history. Unfortunately, historical research into corporate finance decisions seems to be limited. The aim of this special issue is to pubish new research on the history of corporate finance. We define historical research as work that is sensitive to and includes institutional developments, which are specific to time and place. In the special issue we are open to research that takes an historical approach, but also to research in the tradition of (financial) economics.
