Fall 2017 Call for Papers

“Uncomfortable Conversations: Religion and Politics in New England”

Just in time for Thanksgiving—chief holiday of awkward family conversations—we’ll be hosting our fall academic conference tackling two of the biggest of difficult topics: politics and religion. We’re looking for proposals on these topics broadly considered, so please don’t feel limited to, for example, legislative or ecclesiastical topics. The personal is political, after all, and religion often suffuses everyday life, organizational activity, and politics themselves. So send us your proposals! Specific date will be announced soon.

Historical society and museum personnel, graduate students, independent scholars, teachers, and members of the academy are all invited to make presentations.  For consideration, please submit a paper title, abstract, and a short c.v.  Application deadline extended to September 30, 2017.

Proposals should be sent to conference co-chairs: Jennifer Cote at president@asch-cthistory.org and/or Steve Armstrong at vicepresident@asch-cthistory.org.
