The Association for Research on Civil Society in Africa (AROCSA), in collaboration with the Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action (ARNOVA), invites you to the AROCSA 2017 CONFERENCE on the theme: “Africa In A Changing Global Context: People, Production & Politics”.  The conference will take place at the School of Governance, University of Witwatersrand,  Johannesburg, South Africa, from 27th – 29th July 2017, and will bring together over 150 people from academia and practice for knowledge sharing, networking and skills building.

The rationale for the proposed theme is to identify strategies undergirded by empirical research and conceptual analysis and practitioners’ insights, and accomplish two key goals. First, encourage the intellectual analysis of contemporary issues in the global community and how to re-position Africa in the changing global context; and second, a diagnosis of the impact that governance of people, production and politics has in the development of the African continent.

To this end, we invite you to REGISTER to attend the conference.  This year, AROCSA will not charge a full conference fee, but participants pay a token commitment fee to show their commitment.  Students pay $5 per participant, registered AROCSA members pay $10 per participant, whilst non-AROCSA members pay $25 per participant.

As a relatively young membership-based organization, AROCSA is currently identifying individuals and institutions who care about civil society and would want to have a platform for networking and meaningful engagement.  We therefore welcome new members to JOIN AROCSA. Members enjoy many benefits including becoming members of ARNOVA for free, among others.

We look forward to your participation in the upcoming conference, your membership, and ultimately building a long term relationship with you. Please do not hesitate to contact the Programs Coordinator for further information on AROCSA by e-mailing: syeboah@arocsa.org, or for further information about the conference, please e-mail conference@arocsa.org.  Thank you.
