The Bundeswehr’s Federal Office of Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support – represented by the scientific advisory board of the Advancement Award for Military History and Military Technical History – announces a colloquium on military history in cooperation with the University of Potsdam, the Center for Military History and Social Sciences of the Bundeswehr, the Arbeitskreis Militärgeschichte (Association for the Study of Military History), and the Association of Early Modern History. It will take place in Potsdam on October 26 and 27, 2017 and specifically addresses PhD students. They will be given the opportunity to discuss their projects with an international as well as interdisciplinary audience. The conference language is German and English.

The event is open for all methodological, thematical or chronological perspectives, ranging from the ancient period to contemporary history.

The organizers cover travel and accommodation expenses (rail travel, second class). Please submit a short outline of your topic (one page) and a short CV by e-mail until July 21, 2017 to the following address:
