The summer school valorises the pursuit of ontology, foregrounding the debate on this classical philosophical question. The six-day course fosters a rich and lively intellectual exchange by addressing, in a rigorous and clear manner, different philosophical perspectives.
The fourth edition of of ISP/Ontology will take place in Grado (Italy) from the 26th to the 31st of August and will host:
26-28 August - James Ladyman - 'Naturalist Structuralist Perspectives on Fundamental Metaphysical Questions'
26-28 August - Davide Tarizzo - 'Metaphysics beyond Ontology: Plato, Hegel, Lacan, and Quantum Mechanics'
29-31 August - Moshe Idel - 'Ontology of Evil in Jewish Thought'
29-31 August - Jean-Luc Nancy - TBA
Each speaker will hold three seminars over three days (each seminar will be two hours long, including discussion).
The school is located in Grado, an island in northeast Italy. The closest airport is Trieste (Ronchi dei Legionari) which is only 20 kilometers from Grado. Other airports close to Grado are Venice-Marco Polo and Venice-Treviso.
