CFP: Mid-Atlantic Popular/American Culture Association Annual Conference: Medieval and Renaissance Area

The Medieval and Renaissance Area of the Mid-Atlantic Popular/American Culture Association (MAPACA) is seeking paper and panel proposals for its 28th annual conference, which will be held November 8-11, 2017, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The area is interested in proposals concerning the ways in which modern artists make use of medieval and Renaissance themes and works in their own creative productions.  Possible topics include the use of the medieval or Renaissance in modern novels, films, and television series; the role of the medieval or Renaissance in gaming culture; modern productions of medieval or Renaissance dramas, and modern treatments of medieval or Renaissance historical figures or events.  The area also welcomes proposals concerning innovative pedagogical approaches for teaching the Middle Ages and/or Renaissance.
