Freedom After Neoliberalism - Registration Now Open
Freedom After Neoliberalism
9-10 June 2017
University of York, UK
Keynote speakers: Nikolas Rose (KCL), Paul Crosthwaite (Edinburgh), Jane Elliott (KCL)
This conference seeks to explore the idea of freedom beyond its limited economic function in neoliberal theory, and to consider perspectives on a future beyond neoliberalism and perhaps beyond capitalism. Panels will focus on a wide range of topics, including: neoliberalism and everyday life, contemporary artistic and literary responses to neoliberalism, theories of postcapitalism, concepts of freedom, and much more. Alongside this diverse selection of panels there will also be multiple keynote speeches and a closing roundtable discussion.
Lunches, coffee, and a wine reception will also be provided. This two-day event is presented by The University of York's Freedom After Neoliberalism research strand, in conjunction with the Centre for Modern Studies and the White Rose College of Arts and Humanities.
