The “Elie Wiesel” National Institute for the Study of Holocaust in Romania launches a competition for research projects concerning the topic of Holocaust in Romania. Three prizes will be awarded, each amounting to Ron 5,000. The schedule will be between April 1 and September 30, 2017. Candidates accepted will have to draft a final study of maximum 12,000 words, Times New Roman font, size 12, and 1.5 line spacing. We recommend that the references and quotations observe the Harvard Style.

The competition is meant for graduates of postgraduate and / or doctoral programs.

The candidateship file must comprise the next documents:

- Request to be accepted in the competition;

- Copy of the ID;

- Curriculum Vitae / Resume;

- Copies of the Bachelor’s Degree and Postgraduate / Doctoral Degree diplomas;  

- List of candidate’s publications (as applicable);  

- Research project.

The research project must detail the work assumptions, phase of previous research on the theme selected, research methodology and stages, as well as the main documentary and reference sources based on which the research is intended.

The candidateship file will be submitted in person or by post mail (with acknowledgment of receipt) to the office of INSHR-EW in Blv. Dacia nr. 89, sector 2, Bucharest, 020052. Deadline for submitting the files is March 24, 2017, 12:00 PM.

An assessment committee will check the completeness of the files and whether they are eligible for participating in the competition. The same committee will assess the relevance of study themes selected, the coherence and feasibility of the research projects. Candidates whose projects are selected by the committee as consequence of the assessment will be invited for an interview.

The competition will unfold according to the next schedule:

March 1 – 24, 2017 – submitting the candidateship files;

March 24, 2017 – checking the candidateship files while considering their compliance with the formal requirements for participating in the competition; publishing the results on the INSHR-EW website;

March 24 – 28, 2017 – assessing the projects;

March 28, 2017 – publishing the results of assessing the projects;

March 30, 2017 – interviews;

March 31, 2017 – publishing the final results of the competition.
