An NEH Summer Institute, "Migration and Empire: The Roman Experience from Marcus Aurelius to Mohammed," will take place in Chapel Hill from June 19 to July 14, 2017 at UNC, Chapel Hill. Professor Michael Maas,  Rice University, and Professor Richard Talbert,  UNC Chapel Hill,  will direct the Institute. It is open to college teachers and adjuncts in all related fields. Teachers of world history and comparative history, as well as those interested in the phenomenon of migration in other periods and places are especially welcome.
