Call for Applications: MWW Senior Fellowships 2017/2018
The Marbach Weimar Wolfenbüttel Research Association is offering short term fellowships for experienced researchers (advanced postdoc level or professor) of one to three months duration between May 2017 and August 2018.
The German Literature Archive Marbach, the Klassik Stiftung Weimar and the Herzog August Library Wolfenbüttel provide access to more than 500 years of German and European cultural history. With the support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Marbach Weimar Wolfenbüttel Research Association (MWW) was created in 2013 to further strengthen the well-established cooperation between these three institutions. One of the MWW’s main aims is to develop innovative research projects which focus attention on the extensive collections in the archives, libraries and museums at all three institutions and thus provide forward-looking impulses for humanities and cultural studies research. There are currently three joint research projects: Writer´s Libraries, Politics of the Image, and Text and Frame. Further information about these projects is available on the MWW website: www.mww-forschung.de/en/research-projects.
The fellowship programme is open to experienced academics from Germany and abroad with research interests in all areas of cultural studies and the humanities. Ideally, the research focus should be linked to one of the MWW’s three existing research projects. Moreover, research topics dedicated to issues of material culture, collection research or cultural heritage are also welcome. Please note that the research topic must relate to one or more of the MWW collections.
Research can be conducted at one or more of the institutions in the association and research visits can range from one to three months between May 2017 and August 2018. Please specify your preferred institution(s) and proposed duration of research visits in your application. Research fellows are required to reside in Marbach, Weimar or Wolfenbüttel during their research visit and are expected to participate in academic exchange at their host institution(s).
The fellowship will provide an allowance of 500 euro per week and a travel subsidy (including transfers between the associated institutions where applicable). The host institution will support the fellow’s project by providing expertise and seeking suitable accommodation (guest houses may be available). Unless otherwise stated, the general terms and conditions of the individual institutions apply.
