"Forts, Wars, and Treaties on the Northern Plains" Sympsoium
On June 1,2, & 3, 2017, Black Hills State Univserity's Case Library in Spearfish, SD and the Fort Meade Cavalry Museum in Sturgis, SD are sponsoring a symposium and tour titled "Forts, Wars, and Treaties on the Northern Plains." The presenters include Jerome A. Greene, Paul Hedren, Eli Paul, Randy Kane, Mike Her Many Horses, Donovin Sprague and Paul Higbee. An all-day tour of Fort Meade and Bear Butte will be led by Randy Bender and Jace DeCory. Sponsors include the Deadwood Historic Preservation Commission, the West River Foundation, the South Dakota Humanities Council, and BHSU.
