Applications are being accepted for the Joan E. Klein Travel Scholarship. Sponsored by the Archivists and Librarians in the History of the Health Sciences two awards for $500 will be available to assist with expenses related to attending the ALHHS annual meeting in Nashville.
The award is open to members of ALHHS and MeMA who are either degree-seeking students attending an accredited college or university or professionals who have worked in the history of the health sciences, particularly, in libraries, archives, or museums, for fewer than five years.
The goal of the Joan E. Klein Travel Scholarship is to “encourage and support continued education and professional engagement for students and professionals in the history of the health sciences, particularly in libraries, archives, or museums.”
The application must be received eight weeks before the opening session of the conference--this year, by March 7, 2017. All applicants will be notified of the results by March 21st to allow attendees to finalize their travel plans. For more information or to apply for the travel funds, please contact committee chair Susan Hoffius or visit http://www.alhhs.org/awards.html.
