The founder of the Holocaust Educational Foundation, Zev Weiss invites applications for the fourth annual Summer East European Concentration Camp and Cemetery Clean-up Program, to begin June 2017. All professors, graduate students, and third and fourth year college students are invited to apply.

This year the two-week trip will go to Hungary, Czech Republic and Poland. The group will visit various camps including Auschwitz-Birkenau, Treblinka, Majdanek, and Belzec and the transit camp of Izbica in southeastern Poland. The group also visits Jewish sites including synagogues, cemeteries, museums, and memorials as well as some of the former communities of Jewish life in central Europe. The group will spend a few days cleaning neglected Jewish cemeteries as well.

Those interested should write a half page letter explaining their interest in the program and what they expect to learn from it. Students must also provide a letter of recommendation from a professor. All those accepted will receive a subsidy of up to $1000.00 toward the cost of the trip. In special cases additional funding may be considered. Applicants must include a $500.00 deposit check made out to TRAVEL PRIORITIES. This deposit will be refundable until MARCH 1, 2017 only.
