Call for Chapters: Liberalism: Expectations and Lived Experiences, Nova Publishers.
I am seeking chapter proposals for an edited volume dealing with the subject of Liberalism. A political homonym in America, liberalism simultaneously refers to the eighteenth century doctrine fathered by John Locke and Adam Smith and the twentieth (and twenty-first) century dogma that fosters state activism in pursuit of economic opportunity and social equality. A duality wrapped within an enigma, liberalism is both practice and creed. This edited collection seeks contributors who can speak to the creed’s classical, philosophical roots and its modern iterations across a variety disciplines. (Advanced graduate students are urged to submit)
If interested in contributing, please send 500-word abstract to Jeff Bloodworth, bloodwor003@gannon.edu by June 1, 2018. The final chapters are expected to fall within the five thousand to ten thousand word range (including sources and footnotes).
