Dear members,

Pio V” in Rome, and the Institute for the History of Liberal Thought organized the International conference "The Cadorna's War 1915-1917", held at University of Trieste on November 2-4 2016. The aim of the Conference is to analyze the political, military and diplomatic events involving Italy in the First World War, when the Italian Army was led by Chief of staff General Luigi Cadorna. Through a multidisciplinary approach and with different sensibilities, we rebuild political and economic events of the war, industrial and patriotic mobilization and, at the same time, we will analyze the major military operations on the Italian front and diplomatic issues that developed in this phase of the war. Thus, the complexity of the conflict will be rebuilt in its many facets, delivering an audience of enthusiasts and scholars, both Italian and foreign, the opportunity to reflect and to reread, with new perspectives, the war on the chessboard Italian.
