CALL FOR PAPERS
CANADIAN PEACE RESEARCH ASSOCIATION (CPRA) ANNUAL CONFERENCE
RYERSON UNIVERSITY, TORONTO, CANADA
31 MAY--2 JUNE, 2017
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: 15 DECEMBER, 2016
DECISION ANNOUNCEMENT: BY 16 JANUARY, 2017
A CORDIAL INVITATION
We are delighted to invite you to the Annual Conference of the Canadian Peace Research Association (CPRA). This conference is part of Congress 2017. Organized by the Canadian Federation for the Humanities and Social Sciences (CFHSS), Congress 2017, it will bring together more than 7,000 scholars, graduate students, practitioners and policy makers from Canada and other countries to share findings, refine ideas, and build partnerships that will help shape the Canada of tomorrow. They will gather under the aegis of 70 academic associations representing a rich spectrum of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. Congress represents a unique showcase of scholarly excellence, creativity and leadership.
The CPRA conference, as a constituent of Congress 2017, hopes to offer a welcoming milieu for social scientists, other scholars and peace advocates to present their research and influence future Peace Studies.
Congress 2017 showcases the potential of the academy to challenge, redefine and reconfigure through interdisciplinary research, engagement, imagination and service'.
"In the year of Canada's sesquicentennial, Congress 2017 invites reflection on our past as we look to the future. This year's theme "From Far and Wide: The Next 150" evokes the Canadian identity, including the diversity of populations and the reach of this event both nationally and internationally. Toronto itself is a vibrant microcosm of Canada's diversity--and Ryerson University is a metropolitan university within that microcosm interwoven and connected with the community. The theme is inclusive of different ideas, geographies, culture, countries, schools of thought and disciplines, encouraging cross-collaboration and interdisciplinary approach. The theme plays across time, contrasting a traditional Canadian phrase with the idea of moving forward and looking ahead to the future, as a country, and as a society."
The CPRA seeks to bring together academics, researchers, educators, and peace advocates from Canada and abroad to examine and discuss current and emerging issues and challenges in the field of Peace Research.
Individual papers and panels in Peace Research, especially the ones that have national and international significance, are invited from ALL DISCIPLINES and PROFESSIONS.
