Migration and Gender in Recent Austrian Literature and Film
The Coalition of Women in German sponsored ASA panel seeks to contextualize and explore themes of gender, migration, and place in recent Austrian literature and film. Some questions to consider are: How  is the space of past and present Austria explored textually? How does migration and multiculturalism contribute to the literary and cinematic discourse in Austria?  How have contemporary and multilingual voices added new perspectives to cultural production in Austria? How does gender complicate the act or idea of migration? Possible authors that would be of interest to this panel may include: Zdenka Becker, Ann Cotton, Dimitré Dinev, Milena Michiko Flašar, Sabine Gruber, Maja Haderlap, Anna Kim, Elfriede Jelinek,  Terézia Mora, Gabriele Petricek, Julya Rabinowich, Doron Rabinovici, or Vladimir Vertlib.
