The Rocky Mountain Military Affairs Society presents a free public lecture . . . World War One at Sea:  On the Surface and Beneath the Waves, by John Abbatiello, COLSA Corp., and Chuck Steele, USAF Academy.

John Abbatiello is a senior operations analyst with the COLSA Corporation, supporting the Army’s Space and Missile Defense Command in Colorado Springs. He received his BS in History from the USAF Academy in 1987 and later earned MA and PhD degrees in War Studies at King’s College London, UK.  He served as a pilot and AFA educator during his 25-year Air Force career.  He is the author of Anti-Submarine Warfare in World War I:  British Naval Aviation and the Defeat of the U-Boats (Routledge, 2006).

Dr. Chuck Steele is an Associate Professor of history at the U.S. Air Force Academy. A graduate  of the University of California, Berkeley , he holds an MA in War Studies from King’s College, London, UK, and  PhD in history from West Virginia University. In addition to his teaching duties, he is book review editor for the International Journal of Naval History and has published in Naval History, the Journal of the Australian Naval Institute, and the UK’s Naval Review.
