The 21st Eric E. Williams Memorial Lecture will take place at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at the AT&T Conference Center, University of Texas, Austin (UT).This year, the Lecture again hosts distinguished scholar, activist/organizer, teacher, and writer Angela Davis, internationally renowned for her ongoing work to combat all forms of oppression in the U.S. and abroad. Her articles and essays have appeared in numeous journals and anthologies, and she is the author of nine books. During the last twenty-five years, Professor Davis has lectured in all fifty of the United States, as well as in Africa, Europe, the Caribbean, and the former Soviet Union. She is a living witness to the historical struggles of the contemporary era.

Due to the celebrity of this year's speaker, the free, but ticketed event was "sold out" within hours. Live streaming will, however, be available at https://virtualmeeting.la.utexas.edu/meet/eric-williams-memorial-lecture-april-04, and post-Lecture viewing will be accessible on the UT Warfield Center's YouTube channel.
