An Interdisciplinary Journal of Critical and Creative Inquiry
Call for Submission
Penumbra is a peer-edited, peer-reviewed online journal of Union Institute and University's Ph.D. program in Interdisciplinary Studies that is published electronically and is dedicated to challenging traditional academic and creative disciplinary boundaries in the context of social change.
We publish socially engaged, innovative, creative, and critical scholarship with a focus on ethical, political, and aesthetic issues in education, humanities, leadership, and public policy.
Submissions
We seek submissions from graduate students, junior scholars, and emerging artists in addition to more established critical and creative voices. All submissions undergo double-blind peer review.
Penumbra invites academic papers as well as creative and critical works that address any aspect of the journal's mission and scope. The citation style required is Chicago Manual Author-Date.
The deadline for submissions for the current cycle is April 15,
and we accept and encourage submissions on an ongoing basis.
