Hi, colleagues,

Dr. JT Torres of Quinnipiac University and I will be moderating an inclusive pedagogy roundtable at PAMLA in Portland, OR. The conference, which will be held in person, will take place from October 26-29, 2023. The deadline to submit abstracts to the roundtable is May 31st.

A brief description of the session is below,, and the full panel description, with a link to submit an abstract, can be accessed here. (To submit an abstract, I believe you'll need to create a PAMLA account and log in.)

This special session invites teachers of writing and literature to share how they offer accessible, culturally responsive, and anti-racist writing pedagogies while continuing to help students meet the needs of their intended audiences. Animated by the work of scholars including A. Suresh Canagarajah (2003), Asao B. Inoue (2022), Robert McRuer (2006), J. Logan Smilges (2022), and Vershawn Ashanti Young (2009), the roundtable will offer instructors an opportunity to discuss their engagement with inclusive pedagogy and to give voice to pedagogical triumphs and challenges.

Please let me know if you have any questions (ajharnish@alaska.edu), and feel free to share this with  anyone who might be interested.

Thank you

Andrew
