We are pleased to welcome applications for a fully-funded PhD studentship in Medieval Literature at King's College London.

The scholarship (from the start of the next academic year) is part of a project ’Sacred Secular', funded by the Thyssen Foundation and led by Sarah Bowden (King's) and Susanne Friede (RU Bochum); it will cover fees at international or home rate, plus stipend, for two years in the first instance (the third year is subject to project review in year one). The student will be expected to develop a project related in some way to things and/or material objects, religious and secular and must draw at least partly on German material, although a comparative approach is encouraged. They will be supervised by Sarah Bowden, and co-supervision from another medievalist at King’s (depending on availability) is also possible.
