We are excited to introduce a new addition to the new series, Studies in Periodical Cultures:

Modernity and the Periodical Press: Trans-Atlantic Mass Culture and the Avant-Gardes, 1880-1920

This volume explores the significant role of the periodical press and focuses in particular on the often-neglected intersections between mass print culture and the practices of literary and artistic avant-gardes.

As part of the Studies in Periodical Cultures series, it focuses on various forms of media in (trans)national contexts. This book series looks at how periodicals evolve in and through networks of people, material infrastructures, media markets, and changing technologies to assess their role for processes of cultural transfer and translation.
