Call for Papers:

  • The History Graduate Student Association (HGSA) at Ohio University is pleased to issue a call for papers for the Ohio University History Graduate Conference, which will take place in-person on the main campus in Athens, Ohio Saturday, April 15, 2023.

 

  • Graduate students who are interested in presenting at the conference should send an abstract (approximately 250-300 words) and a one-page CV to hgsaohio@gmail.com by March 3, 2023.

Eligibility of Paper Topics:

Students working on the contemporary period in any geographical region are invited to participate. Topics may include, but are not limited to:

  • Military and/or Diplomatic History
  • Political History
  • Social History
  • Economic History
  • Intellectual, Cultural, and Literary History
  • Environmental History
  • Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies
  • International Relations or Area Studies
  • Development Studies
  • Media and/or Communication Studies
  • Historical Anthropology or Sociology
  • History of Science, Medicine or Technology

 

  • Acceptance notification will be issued by early March. If accepted, completed research papers should be submitted no later than March 24, 2023, in order to give faculty commentators enough time to prepare their remarks
