Dear all, we would like to announce a special issue of the journal Sanglap: Journal of Literary and Cultural Studies (9:1) on the topic of "Asian Perspectives in Semiotics."  The open-access journal features articles from scholars in India, Iraq, and Japan, and attempts to chart the history of how semiotics has been received and developed in various Asian academies and presenting case studies from fields as diverse as linguistics, anthropology, and literary studies.
