Please consider submitting a presentation proposal to the Philosophy and Popular Culture area at the Midwest Popular Culture Association/American Culture Association conference being held in Chicago on October 6-9, 2016.
Any topic at the intersection of philosophy and popular culture will be considered. This is the first year when death studies has been absorbed into the philosophy area so those interested in death studies are also welcome to submit. Possible topics for consideration include:
- Pop philosophy in cultural products
- American interpretations of non-Western philosophies
- The philosopher as cultural trope
- Aesthetics of the popular
- American ontology
