Historia Agraria de América Latina (HAAL) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Centro de Estudios de Historia Agraria de América Latina (CEHAL), in partnership with the Asociación Latinoamericana de Historia Rural (ALAHR).
Historia Agraria de América Latina (HAAL) announces an open call for articles and book reviews, without restrictions on topic, historical period or geographical area. HAAL aims to promote and disseminate research and interdisciplinary debate on the history of the rural societies of Latin America and the Caribbean. The journal prioritizes the publication of research that analyzes new topics and problems, makes theoretical and methodological contributions, and develops new interpretations. Manuscripts must be original and not in the process of being evaluated by another journal. HAAL welcomes manuscripts from economics, anthropology, political science, sociology and other disciplines that examine issues of rural society from an historical perspective.
Article manuscripts and book reviews may be submitted in Spanish, Portuguese or English. Manuscripts must be fully anonymized, that is, free of any identifying information in both the text and notes. Articles should have a length of 8000 words including notes and references and must be presented in accordance with the journal style guidelines. Book reviews should have a length of 1500 words.
