Call for Papers for the Annual FIU Department of History Graduate Students Association Conference

Upon acceptance, final papers must be submitted by February 24, 2023
The 2023 DOHGSA Conference will feature a hybrid setting, in person and on Zoom. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Andrea Queeley, author of Rescuing Our Roots: The African Anglo-Caribbean Diaspora in Contemporary Cuba (2015) and Associate Professor of Anthropology in the Department of Global and Sociocultural Studies at FIU.
For the panels, we welcome presentations pertaining to the themes of race and migration, including studies that explore, but are not limited to, citizenship, belonging, identity, and gender. Please limit proposals to a 300-word abstract, including a working title, a brief description of the topic, and a clear thesis statement. Conference papers need to be well-developed, polished and based on original research.
