The American Research Institute of the South Caucasus (ARISC) invites you to attend the

2022 Forum on Strategizing Academic Placement

This is a 75-minute discussion and Q&A session on different pathways in academic placement for graduate students specializing in the South Caucasus, Russian and Eurasian Studies, and adjacent fields. This forum will broadly address the academic job search process, from identifying and locating open positions, to preparing application portfolios, to interview strategies. Panelists for this forum include

    •    Dr. Kate Franklin (Birkbeck University of London)
    •    Dr. Alyssa Mathias (Knox College)
    •    Dr. Kelsey Rice (Berry College)

Panelists will briefly introduce the forum, sharing their own experiences leveraging graduate degrees across the arts and humanities into careers in the North American and international academies. For the remainder of the forum, participants will have the opportunity to ask their own questions on academic placement and professional development, including their experiences . Panelists will be prepared to answer questions on professorial, professional, and postdoctoral employment across a variety of fields, including history, classics, archaeology, music, and more.

Although this panel is geared toward graduate students and postdoctoral fellows specializing in the South Caucasus and Russian and Eurasian Studies, we welcome interested participants from any field and at any stage of their academic careers.
