Call for Papers: RPGs as Texts and Tools
Northeast Popular/American Culture Association Conference

Abstract Deadline: June 1, 2016

A panel dedicated to Role Playing Games (RPGs) is forming for the Northeast Popular/American Culture Association’s 2016 conference. Moderated by Shelly Jones from SUNY Delhi, the panel will consist of 3-4 researchers exploring the significance of RPGs as texts of study and/or pedagogical tools. 

Suggested topic areas include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • RPGs and Queer Studies
  • RPGs and Disability Studies
  • Collaborative Storytelling in RPGs
  • RPGs as pedagogical tools in the Creative Writing classroom 
  • Mythos and RPGs
  • RPGs as social worlds 
  • RPGs and Game Theory
  • RPGs and identity 
  • RPGs and cultural studies
