The second edition of the international conference International Security and the Environment, under the sub-theme of Global Challenges in the Age of Humans, will be hosted by Chiang Mai University on the 14-15th June, 2023. This two day event will be held in collaboration with Mae Fah Luang University, and also the ASEAN Training Centre for Social Work and Social Welfare (ATCSW), IDS, Konrad Adenauer, and the WWF.
The conference aims to bring together broad range of participants including policymakers, academics, civil society, and students by providing a platform for dialogue on some of the most pressing global challenges.
Since the overarching themes of the conference are international security and the environment, the conference invites abstracts on a diverse range of topics such as:
Security, the environment, and marginalized groups, environmental security, ecological security, the global governance of climate change, geopolitics and the environment, sustainable development, the Anthropocene, the Capitalocene and World Ecology, resilience approaches to climate change, gender and the environment, and environmental change and migration.
Abstract submission is invited for the international conference "International Security and the Environment" at Chiang Mai University. Abstracts will be accepted up until and including the 31st December, 2022. Abstracts should be no more than 250 words and sent to Matthew Robson (firstname.lastname@example.org). Authors will be advised during the first week of January, 2023 of the outcome.
There is no registration fee for this event. Authors will be asked to confirm their participation in the conference by email during the first weeks fo January, 2023, and also their commitment to send their final papers by the 1st June, 2023.
Date and location
The conference will take place on the 14th and 15th June, 2023. Adopting a hybrid format, authors will be able to participate onsite at the Faculty of Political Science and Administration of Chiang Mai University, or alternatively online.
