The American Research Institute of the South Caucasus (ARISC) announces funding opportunities for 2022-23! Short descriptions below. Please check our website for full eligibility and application information.
  • ARISC Junior Research Fellowship#
    • US citizens and permanent residents; within 10 years of completing PhD
    • up to $5,000 for proposed project
    • Timeline: up to 3 months, to be completed by August 31, 2023
  • ARISC Short Term Research Fellowships*
    • US citizens; PhD candidates or completed PhD
    • $4,200/month, up to 2 months
    • Timeline: up to 2 months, to be completed by August 31, 2023
  • ARISC Research and Mentoring Fellowships*
    • US citizens; PhD candidates or completed PhD
    • up to $10,000 for proposed project
    • Timeline: up to 3 months, to be completed by August 31, 2023
  • ARISC Graduate/Postdoctoral Fellowships**
    • US or Canadian citizens/permanent residents; graduate students and early career posdocs
    • up to $2,250 for proposed project
    • Timeline: up to 3 months, to be completed by August 31, 2023
  • ARISC Honoraria for Lectures & Workshops*
    • US citizens; PhD candidates or completed PhD
    • $250/lecture; $500/workshop
    • Timeline: to be completed by September 30, 2023
  • ARISC Small Grants**
    • Citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, or Georgia; students in the South Caucasus
    • up to $300 for proposed project
    • Timeline: up to 3 months, to be completed by August 31, 2023
  • ARISC Travel Grants*
    • Scholars in the South Caucasus presenting at conference/workshop; PhD candidates or completed PhD
    • up to $3,000 for proposed project
  • ARISC Collaborative Heritage Management Grant in Armenia##
    • Team with US and Armenian citizens; master's degree or higher
    • up to $4000 for proposed project
    • Timeline: to be completed by August 31, 2024
  • ARISC Collaborative Heritage Management Fellowships in Azerbaijan or Georgia*
    • Team with US and Azerbaijani or Georgian citizens; master's degree or higher
    • up to $4000 for proposed project
    • Timeline: up to 3 months, to be completed by August 31, 2023
