How can audiovisual media and digital spaces help cities and regions reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to the new realities of climate change – in other words, make sustainable local futures imaginable, negotiable, and desirable?
To approach answers to this question both theoretically and practically, we will host a two-day symposium at the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF (Potsdam, Germany) on 24 and 25 January 2023. The symposium is organized in cooperation with the Climate Media Factory (Potsdam, Germany), a leading actor in the field of transdisciplinary applied climate communication.
We call for short presentations of best and bad practice projects, concepts or initial ideas for upcoming projects that match the theme and scope of the symposium.
Presentations should be up to 20 minutes long and provide meaningful insights into the main idea and approach of the project as well as conceptual and practical barriers and challenges. Your submission should include a short project description (max. 250 words), film/photo footage or a link to the project website, and a short description of why the project fits the symposium (max. 250 words). Please find a more detailed description of the symposium here.
The symposium will be held in English and German. If you want to submit a contribution in a different language, please don’t hesitate to contact us! We will be happy to discuss possible solutions. In the case of selection and if necessary, travel and accommodation costs will be covered up to a certain amount.
Please send your application before the 20 November 2022 to:
