The Geist Institute's Old German Script Course is moving to the Salem College campus in Winston-Salem, NC.  This course is designed for researchers and scholars who have a strong reading knowledge of German and want to decipher the Script used in 17th-early 20th century German manuscripts. Participants meet for 30 hours of group instruction and practice during this intensive workshop.  Course instructor Julie Tomberlin Weber, Ph.D. has 20+ years of experience transcribing manuscripts for the Moravian Archives, Old Salem, Inc, and numerous  researchers. In addition to Roger Minert's text Deciphering Handwriting in German Documents and a coursepack, particpants may submit samples of handwriting from their own projects for group practice.  Join our growing list of alums from The George Washington Univ., National Gallery of Art, Stanford, Univ of Sydney, Vanderbilt,& Wake Forest. Housing available on-campus at Salem College.
