The cost of a PhD is not insignificant, and anything to help cover expenses like tuition can help. All the more reason to tell students about applying for the PhD Scholarship from the Institute for Humane Studies. One simple application provides an award of $1,500 to entering or currently enrolled PhD students: $1,500 to use toward tuition, fees, books, and other needs for their studies. And, since we hand out these awards to 100 recipients, the chances of acceptance are much greater compared with other grants and scholarships.

The scholarship that really helps scholars.

The IHS PhD Scholarship comes with more than a nice check to deposit into a student’s checking account. This unique scholarship provides entrée to invitation-only academic receptions, for example, where they can connect with other scholars, attend research and career development seminars and workshops, and more. Best of all, recipients also become eligible to apply for the renewable $15,000 Humane Studies Fellowship the following year.

At IHS, we believe in the power of ideas to create a more peaceful, prosperous future. That’s why we support aspiring scholars through programs like our PhD Scholarship and Humane Studies Fellowship: to help future thought leaders make the most of their academic careers.

The deadline to apply is March 1, 2016. For more information and to apply, visit the IHS PhD Scholarship web page:
